Dear Friend, It's that time again!
We are opening auditions for a thrilling new production of Dario Fo's sharp political farce, Accidental Death of an Anarchist. For this production, all characters will be women. LISBON PLAYERS AUDITIONS Accidental Death of an Anarchist is a darkly comedic satire by Dario Fo. The play centers on a cunning imposter who infiltrates a Milan police station to expose the truth behind an anarchist's suspicious death during interrogation. Through a series of disguises and sharp wit, the absurdities and contradictions within the police force are revealed, challenging the audience to reflect on the nature of truth and justice in a corrupt society.
Character Descriptions: -
Inspector Bertozzo:
A by-the-book police officer, easily flustered and outwitted by the Maniac. Comedic timing and physicality are essential.

Inspector Pissani:
A more aggressive officer, quick-tempered and not very bright. Becomes increasingly unhinged as the play progresses.

The Superintendent:
The head of the police station, authoritative but easily manipulated. Must balance authority with comedic vulnerability.

Maria Feletti:
A sharp, inquisitive journalist determined to uncover the truth. Strong presence and delivery required.

Constable:
A subordinate officer who follows orders without question. Provides comic relief.
