🎭 Auditions! Dear Friend, 🔊 Once again, it's time for some good old Lisbon Players open auditions! 🔊 Play: Hedda Gabler by Henrik Ibsen Directed by: Miguel Jesus Dates: 18th - 29th June 2025 Theatre: Teatro Variedades Ibsen's Hedda Gabler is a profound exploration of power dynamics and existential despair. The play examines the pressures placed on women, particularly the conflict between personal desire and societal roles, as Hedda struggles with the limitations imposed upon her. The play also delves into the destructive consequences of repressed ambition and unfulfilled longing. Hedda's yearning for freedom and influence leads her to manipulate those around her. Ibsen's sharp dialogue and psychological depth highlight the human desire for meaning and control, making Hedda Gabler a timeless commentary on individuality and the search for autonomy.
